Twenty-six up-and-coming food and beverage businesses have started their journey through the Future Food Brisbane initiative, taking part in accelerator and market incubator programs to help grow their business from startups to established organisations.
The Future Food Brisbane initiative is helping participating businesses to achieve their next step, whether it was to grow locally or reach global markets by expanding their capabilities, capacity and expertise, through a range of targeted education and industry development advice.

Brewdog brewery gets DA approval
The $30 million riverfront Brewdog brewery in Brisbane East that will produce 10 million litres of beer a year has been given the tick of approval.
Scottish beer giant BrewDog submitted a development application to Brisbane City Council on March 15, proposing to build its first Australian brewery in the Metroplex complex at Murarrie.

Government announces new $150m Cultural Centre Theatre
QPAC is set to become the nation’s largest theatre with the Queensland Government announcing a new $150 million state of the art 1500-1700 seat theatre for Brisbane.
The Premier announced an investment of $125 million towards its construction on the Playhouse Green site at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) with the bulk of the funding committed for its construction part of next month’s State Budget.

The new four times weekly A321neo non-stop services will replace the current three times weekly A340 aircraft, and will be the first narrowbody operation to Australia offering a flat-bed business product.
Julieanne Alroe, Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) CEO and Managing Director, said it was exciting to be the first airport in Australia to welcome the new long range narrow body service.
